Incident: East Air A320 at Kulyab on Feb 2nd 2014, runway excursion on landing By Simon Hradecky, created Friday, Feb 7th 2014 19:12Z, last updated Friday, Feb 7th 2014 21:39Z An East Air Airbus A320-200, registration EY-623 performing flight EG-704 from Moscow Domodedovo (Russia) to Kulyab (Tajikistan) with 186 passengers and 6 crew, veered off the runway while landing at Kulyab at about 07:25L (02:25Z) and came to a stop with a damaged nose gear. No injuries occurred. The Interstate Aviation Committee (MAK) reported on Feb 7th that the aircraft went off the runway shoulder during the landing roll. The aircraft came to a stop with a damaged nose gear. The MAK opened an investigation. The airline stated in order to avoid any rumours that the aircraft landed in bad weather and low visibility, when it rolled out of the side of the runway and damaged its nose gear. There were no injuries. No weather data are available for Kulyab (also known as Kulob).
