Incident Overview Grangeville Idaho August 25, 2014 This is the last update from the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests for the Johnson Bar Fire unless significant activity occurs. Johnson Bar Fire – Moose Creek Ranger Station Approximate Size: 8,498 acres based on latest infrared data Containment: 45% Total personnel: 90 O’Hara Campground is open and Johnson Bar Campgrounds remain closed. Selway River Road is open. Campgrounds upriver from O’Hara Campground are open to the public. Forest Roads in the fire area under closure orders will remain closed until further notice. Fire Update: The Type 3 organization assumed command of the Johnson Bar fire on 8/25, fire camp has been moved to the Johnson Bar Campground. Personnel are focused on monitoring, mop-up, and rehabilitation. Current Closures: · Johnson Bar campgrounds are closed. · Road 470 (Swiftwater Road) is closed from Selway River Road to Road 286, except to local residents who access their residence via this road. · Road 651 (O’Hara Road) is closed from O’Hara Bridge to Road 1129. Road 1129 is closed from Road 286 to Road 651. · The Selway River is closed from O’Hara Bridge downriver to the confluence with the Middle Fork Clearwater River. Special Concerns: Traffic along Selway River Road, which will get heavy as Labor Day weekend approaches. Hazard trees and snags in the fire area both along roadways and the Selway River banks.
