Income and wealth disparity is the major problem we have in the United States today. Government worker is a prime example. Say some one retiring at the top of his grade, a GS 14 with 35 years of honorablr service receives 2% per year under the old system, thus it amounts to 70 % of $65,000 = $45,500. In the mid to late 80s. The Same grade now makes $140,000 thus the same office retiring in 2015 at the with 35 years of honorable would be 70% of the current salary or retiring at $98,000 or receiving over twice as much in retirement as the same grade officer who retired in 1985. It seems that the forces that effect an officer of equal grade should be afforded the same retirement.
