Incorrect. You are NOT a wartime anything. You are peace officers. You are a civil authority and civilians yourselves. You are NOT Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, or Sailors. You have every right to protect yourself from threats, but you need to drop this state of mind that makes you think you are on a battlefield. You are NOT. You are also NOT to view the community you work in as a collective threat, or view yourself as outside of that very community. You are apart of it and a member. This has to stop. It will only continue to escalate the very dangerous situation we are facing as a nation. The American people do NOT support the police state, or surveillance state. We do support you though, when you uphold your oath. So please, think about your actions. Remember who you are serving. The community. Not politicians or the brass in your respective department. I personally pray for our nations law enforcement and for all of you to be able to go back to your homes and families every night. Safely. Yet, if the NYPD turns the table, and starts treating American citizens like enemy POWs. You will lose the good will of the American people. Act with good conscience and abide by your moral compass.
