Increase in migrant workers entering UK A report by the British Chambers of Commerce outlined that due to a supposed ‘lack of local talent’, around 45% of UK companies employ migrant workers.Director General John Longworth suggests that the reason non- EU workers are outshining local citizens is in correlation with differing attitudes towards working life. He believes that, “Businesses continue to rely on migrant workers, because they can’t find enough suitable talent locally.
