Increasing GST is NOT helping the Average Poor but raising more tax revenue for PAP. Everyone pays substantially MORE than the rebate amount on the GST/ Utilities vouchers every year. NOT ALL Singaporeans qualify for GST/ Utilities vouchers and the amount varies. To create a fairer and more equal society, PAP should TAX THE RICH not the Average Poor with GST increase !! PAP must increase Personal and Property tax rates of the Rich. Implement Personal and Company Capital Gain tax on land/ properties/ investments to curb speculations and inflation of land/ properties prices. The Rich are the ones pushing up the land/ properties prices making the Average Poor pay more for their properties and the Business Community suffer higher commercial rental costs and passing down these costs to the Average Poor Singaporeans by increasing prices of food and services resulting in higher costs of living.
