Increasing Heavy Rain Threat. I get nervous when I see lines of T-Storms with intense rainfall rates (2-3+/hr) approach us at this time of the year. Computer models tonight are indicating the POTENTIAL for heavy rains here Friday night off & on into Sunday as a rain boundary stalls near us. Since a similar situation developed a little over a week ago across Mobile & Pensacola (1-2 feet of rain!), we need to pay attention during the next 48-72 hours. Lets see 1) if rain boundary forms and 2) if it stalls? These are 2 important questions that I cant answer tonight. Stay tuned. Long term, another unusually strong east coast trough will develop next week driving record cold for May into the Deep South. It may mean frost & freezes over the Great Lakes with some 40s as far south as the North Shore of Lake P. The high sun angle will warm temps during the day, but the lower humidity will make it feel great! Bob Breck
