Incredible feedback from Jonathan & Marianne! really blown me away today with their very, very kind comments. Fantastic wedding....fantastic couple. Somewhat reluctantly, my fiancee agreed to have a photographer at our very small and private destination wedding. Its not that she didnt want to capture our memories, she was very concerned about having a stranger at our wedding giving orders and taking away from what was most important to us - each other. Shed seen that happen too many times at weddings that she had attended and didnt want the same thing to happen to us. I assured her that I would make sure that things would go smoothly, and set off to find our photographer. Because neither of us were from our wedding destination, Scotland, I didnt have any recommendations from friends or family to use; instead, I searched google for wedding photographers. What I found were almost entirely examples of simple and basic photos, uninspiring and entirely plain. As a photography enthusiast, I was looking for someone that could not only capture a story, but use the lens to tell it, too. I wanted photos that would capture our emotions and our happiness, to add to the memories and to give us happiness every time that we looked at them. I was terribly disappointed with every website that I found. That is, until I looked at Derek Christie Photography! Here were pictures that were beautiful and artistic! Here were stories in every frame! I knew that Derek was going to be perfect. I contacted Derek and we were able to discuss ideas and a vision of the day - Derek was professional and easy-going, enthusiastic and passionate about his craft. I couldnt wait to see him at work. What we got was beyond expectation: beautiful pictures that immediately capture the eye and draw the viewer in to examine every detail. Working with Derek was so easy: he did better than simply fade into the background, what he did was become a part of the celebration! He wasnt just our photographer, he became one of the honored guests! And my fiancee? She loved working with him too: her initial concerns melted away immediately, and we both had an absolute blast working with him. Its one thing to hire a photographer that wont detract from your day; its another thing entirely to find one that adds to it. If youre having a wedding in Scotland, youre going to want to give Derek a call.æ
