Incredible testimony on The Today Show this morning. Matt Lauer to Jeremy Writebol, son of Nancy Writebol, missionary suffering from Ebola: I’m envisioning the day, Jeremy, when your mom is completely healthy again, and your dad is out from under any suspicion of having the virus. And they look at you and they say, “That’s still my calling, and we want to go back to Liberia where there is Ebola and where those people are suffering.” How are you going to feel about that? Jeremy: Go for it. Matt: Really? No hesitation? Jeremy: No. This is what they been called to do, and this is what they feel in their heart— Matt: Even after what your whole family has just been through? Jeremy: Yeah. It won’t be an easy decision for them, but I won’t be surprised. Matt: Will you have a say in that decision? Jeremy: (Laughing) Probably not! Matt: Whether you like it or not… Jeremy: If I do have a say, I’ll say yes. Back with his three colleagues at the desk, they respond to Matt with: “Wow.” “That’s remarkable.” “Incredible.” “Extraordinary, that they would go back? Wow.” Matt concludes to his colleagues, “This is not a hobby for them. This is their mission. This is their calling, and so there’s a better than average chance that they would want to be back with the people of Liberia.” Natalie Morales: “Wow. Says so much about who they are. Amazing.”
