Indeed government is immensely suffering from a ‘reckless’ - TopicsExpress

Indeed government is immensely suffering from a ‘reckless’ decision it made which is currently having a cascading effect on the people of Ghana. We are been told that over 70% of our national revenue goes into the wage bill thanks to Single Spine. Part of the remaining 30% is used in servicing our loans or national debts so you can imagine what is left for actual infrastructural and social developments - no wonder government is unable to pursue its National Health Insurance one-time premium agenda. Again, government is now faced with the consequences of declaring Ghana as a lower middle income nation. Some of the consequences include cessation of some grants and inability to access some concessionary loans. After digging its own pit, government in an attempt to generate more funds or revenue, is keenly increasing taxes and spreading the tax net. While government may want us to bear with it, I maintain that government has no excuse whatsoever! What was the basis of NDC’s socio-economic analysis presented at press conferences and other platforms when they were in opposition other than mere mischief or propaganda gimmicks? Do I assume that all those so-called economic or financial gurus in NDC were simply wasting our ears? REALITY HAS - REALLY - CAUGHT UP WITH THEM! Regardless of the current crises, it takes wisdom and pragmatic leadership skills to achieve a significant change or solution. I hope to see such virtues in the NDC government. God bless our homeland Ghana...
