Indeed these issues need to be posted widely. International organisations SHOULD NOT be supporting the military to become more controlling and empowered, financially, by paying exhorbitant rents. This is entirely accountable misuse of international funds designed to assist the people of Burma, when its so-called parliament is still clearly full of self-interested military and a few others. Instead EVERYONE who does ANY business needs to keep the true state of things (especially safety, health, education and free media) in mind. Do you want to support a brutal military regime, or do you want to support a country to become free of its yoke? Be honest, every company and visitor: why are you there? If it is just to make profits, there is a clear human karma attached, as many have been destroyed and lost lives. If you say you are there to help, then openly and clearly waste no money and assist the people, without propping up vested interests, no matter how inconvenient the process and accommodation. This is NOT the time for repeat double dealing, or massive avaricious jade and gem fairs. If the Chinese who have seeped into Burma continue to make squillions from this situation, then that is attached to so much more karma that one cannot help but feel sorry for China - or any greedy unscrupulous nation or company exploiting the situation. They know who they are.
