Independence Day 1919- 2015. The 96th anniversary of the Sovereign Republic of éire, Dáil éireann, Republican Dáil éireann courts both of which were ratified at the table in the Cabinet Room at the Mansion House, Dawson Street, Dublin, by the wish and will of the People in 1919. Commemorating the Declaration of Independence, the Message to the Free Nations of the World, The Democratic Programme. All of which were read in Irish, English and French. Commemorating The War of Independence. After the Mansion House, we proceeded via Leinster House to 16 Lombard St. then on to commemorate Sean Treacy and Phil Shanahan before addressing the crowd at the GPO and the Garden of Remembrance (GOR) where I had the honour of laying the wreath for all the volunteers who lost their lives for the cause of Irish freedom. We crossed the road to Vaughans Hotel where the state was founded which was ratified in 1919 and our tour ended on Moore St. at the plaque of the ORahilly, where it brought home to so many present, the sacrifice endured by those who set out to establish the Sovereign Republic of éire for us and our future generations .
