India Through The Eyes of its Children - A Photo Exhibition -- is now at Instituto Cervantes Nueva Delhi @ 48, Hanuman Road, Connaught Place from today until 11 January 2015. Do visit and tell us what you think! 25 years ago the world made a promise to children: that we would do everything in our power to protect and promote their rights to survive and thrive, to learn and grow, to make their voices heard and to reach their full potential. This year, as we mark the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) we look at the progress done and the challenges ahead, and the story tellers are children themselves. UNICEF India organized this year a series of photography workshops in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. For most children, it was the first time that they even held a camera, but the images they captured show great sensibility and emotion. These children were able to tell through their images the life they live and the struggles they see around them. They interacted very closely with their subjects, and featured the challenges that the most vulnerable, particularly women and children, face in their lives including issues like poverty, education, water, sanitation and hygiene, child labour, and colours and traditions among others.
