India is sixty eight years young. Today we celebrate our Independence Day. The tricolour flies high on all Govt. Buildings . I had the exceptional privilege of hoisting the National flag one last time today. A golden day that I will remember till my end. Thank you Sir. I was really sad when some un knowingly or say unwittingly stamping the plastic flags. Just kept silent while seething inside. A thought flashed is this sixty eight year old country not taking into account the ancient & medieval period but only the post independence era is it really independent? Or is it that we broke the chains of the British rule to get into the web of Indian political aspirants who have more to satisfy their personal agenda and need for self aggrandisement than to think of the country men. Yeah we are the worlds largest democracy, have we ever questioned whether we really qualify to be one? Independence, democracy are very big words which encompass very vast meaning. The basic to qualities being responsibility and accountability. We sell our souls to a hand full of people and dance to their tune for five years at a time. We do not even know the difference between the ministers & the govt. function. Ministers are representatives the babudom or the secretaries and their staff run the country. Most of these people are honest and committed. Every basket of eggs have a few rotten ones. So no exception. The so called political leaders have the compulsion to satisfy a plethora of people who have supported them physically, morally, mentally and financially. So have their own agendas and limitations. The people are really the ones with fundamental rights , who if take up responsibility and feel the need to account for can really make the country independent. Otherwise it is foreign or domestic clutches. Raise, rationalise, discreet and commit yourself country men. Dont be flock of sheep. We owe our motherland everything. Jai hind. Jai Bharat. Salute my country. Pray to be really independent
