Indian Embassy Lists Help Line In the wake of massive crackdown on illegal residents in the country by the Kuwaiti authorities, the Embassy of India in Kuwait has been in regular contact with the local authorities to offer help to those in distress and to those who claim they have been arrested or harassed in spite of holding valid documents. An Indian Embassy source said the Embassy has also conveyed to the Kuwaiti authorities the fears, concerns, and apprehensions of the Indian community in this regard. The source added according to the Kuwaiti authorities strict instructions have been issued to the securitymen to ensure there is no harassment or improper treatment of expatriates during security checks. According to the Indian Embassy source, the Kuwaiti authorities have said ‘should there be any complaint it should be directed to the Inspection Department, Ministry of Interior, Kuwait, Fax No. 22435580, Mobile phone No. 66906651’. However, the Indian Embassy advises all Indian expatriates to abide by all local laws, rules and regulations concerning residence, traffic and other matters. The Embassy has also stressed that they should always and at all times carry Civil ID and other relevant documents such as the driving license, etc. The Embassy sources said, should an Indian expatriate encounter any improper treatment during a security check it may be conveyed immediately with full details and contact particulars to the Embassy on phone No. 67623639, e-mail ID: [email protected]
