These counters are in addition to the 24-hour helpline currently available at the embassy premises. The numbers are 011 4884697, 011 4881982, 0501699879, 0501700106, 0501699895, and 0501699894. The embassy, the press release said, has completed verification of all Emergency Certificate (EC) applications directly submitted at the chancery and collected through other centers. In all, 50,000 applications have been received so far, the press note said. The embassy has also opened a special counter for sponsorship transfer services at its premises to assist those who are eligible to switch over jobs but unable to get their passports from their original sponsors. Meanwhile, all Indian nationals have been advised not to purchase airline tickets or book their seats unless "final exit" is stamped on their passports or ECs. The Indian consulate said in a press release that mere fingerprinting does not suffice for traveling back to India. It said in some cases, the Jawazat/Tarheel officials have rejected the “final exit” applications even after fingerprinting has been completed.
