Indian IAS Academy (iia) 18.10.14 : Dear UPSC Aspirants : Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday rejected the opposition charge that government has made a U-turn on black money issue. He asserted that government will not withhold any information, including names of account holders who have stashed black money abroad, from the public, but the names will be revealed after following due process of completing investigations. In his blog, Mr Jaitley wrote that NDA government is committed to detecting the names, prosecuting the guilty and making them public. He said, government will not to be pushed into an act of adventurism that may jeopardize cooperation from other countries on getting names of black money holders. Mr Jaitley said, a mature approach is needed to reach to the root of the matter. He said, any premature and out of court disclosure of the names of account holders would not only vitiate the investigations but will enable such account holders to get away with their offences. The Finance Minister said, it will also violate Indias Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements with other countries and will choke receipt of all further information from those countries. indianiasacademy
