Indian Institutes of Information Technology Bill 2014, - I raised - TopicsExpress

Indian Institutes of Information Technology Bill 2014, - I raised a very important issue on the need of higher education in our country. The Jaiswal committee report in 2009 stressed on the need of opening such institutes (IIIT) where the quality of education would be world class and of primary importance. I welcome the move by HRD to timely table the bill as it is integral to fulfil the aspirations of our students across the country. 2013-14 almost 16 lakhs student registered for technical education which is huge and a good sign for our country. Information technology and related services are Indias forte and country get tremendous revenue from this field. I also requested the HRD ministry to consult with the stalwarts of IT industry, we have in our country who have done wonders and brought innovation in the sector for which the world community respects and admire India. It is a USD 17 Bn industry and with only 4 institutes we can not cater the ever growing need and appetite of our young students. I urged that there is a definite need of having more such institutes in the country and a one definitely in my constituency. #BetterBalasore
