Indian TV channels are harmful like Phensidyl or Yaba Ban on the - TopicsExpress

Indian TV channels are harmful like Phensidyl or Yaba Ban on the alien TV channel is now a popular demand “Police have arrested a group of viewers of Indian TV channels.” I still wait for the day when such a story will be published in Bangladeshi newspapers. I also wait for the day when the viewers of Indian channels will be treated as those of illegal Phensidyl or Yaba dealers. It is well-known to all that harmful Phensidyl is being smuggled into our country from India. Phensidyl started flooding the country since early 90s. In the meantime, the young generation of our country has become addicted to Phensidyl. With a view to meeting the growing demand of the harmful drug among the Bangladeshi youths, hundreds of Phensidyl factories were established near the Indo-Bangla border on the Indian territory, reports banglanews24. During the last five years, our young generation became addicted to Yaba. At present, the university students and a section of cultural activists are directly involved with Yaba trade. But the intensity of addiction of Indian TV channels to Bangladeshi viewers is much more than that of Yaba addiction. It is alarming to note that three-year-old children to 80-year-old people, all are addicted to Indian TV channels. A recent survey shows that female viewers of Bangladesh are more addicted to Indian TV channels than that of male viewers. According to the survey, all the members of a family now sit together to enjoy the Indian TV channels like Star Plus, Sony, Colours, Star Gold, Life OK, M Tune, B4U, Z Music, Channel X, Star Jalsa, Jalsa Movies, Z Bangla, ETV Bangla and Tara Music. As drug addiction affects both the physical and mental health of any person, the addiction of Indian TV channels also creates similar mental and physical side effects. An example of a teen-aged drug addict can be cited here who destroys her entire family at Chamelibagh in the capital city within a few minutes. Because of drug addiction, the educational life of the girl student abruptly came to halt. Our social wounds have turned into a cancer due to the adverse impact of Indian TV channels. Bangladeshi children and teenagers have started following the alien culture of India. Now, they blindly emulate the Indian actors and actresses. Even our young generation talk about extra marital affairs. Because of influence of Indian TV channels, our youths who are said to be the future of the nation, have learnt how to hatch a conspiracy at home and indulge in violent activities in society. Indian TV channels regularly exhibit harmful shows of entertainment to our young viewers. Our indigenous TV channels cannot produce new programmes and shows due to lack of adequate technicians. But Indian TV channels have numerous technicians who produce cheap programmes that harm the local viewers. Moreover, the advertising market in Bangladesh is like a straw in comparison with the Indian market. This is why, Bangladeshi TV channels do not have the capacity to compete with Indian channels. Earlier, programmes of the state-run Bangladesh Television (BTV) were very much popular in Paschim Banga. But the situation changed when private Indian channels came into being. Believe it or not, many programmes which are now broadcast in Indian TV channels are the creations of BTV. An example of a reality show can be cited in this context. It was BTV that launched the unique programme of Notun Kuri. The programme like Indian Idol is a carbon copy of the BTV programme. Advertisement providers of the country now rush to India because 60 percent of TV Rating Point is covered by India. The advertisement market is suffering a lot from recession. Some channels also suffer from liquidity crisis. At present, it has become a popular demand in Bangladesh that the Indian TV channels that telecast songs and music, serials and movies for 24 hours should at once be banned in Bangladesh. It will yield a good result like that of slapping official ban on telecasting Hindi Doraemon in Bangladesh. - See more at: daily-sun/details_Indian-TV-channels-are-harmful-like-Phensidyl-or-Yaba_624_1_9_1_1.html#sthash.gw94F2Fh.dpuf
