Indian Trooper killed in Budgam gunfight Srinagar, May 19: An Army trooper was killed and three were wounded in a fierce gun battle with mujahideen in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday, Police said. “Indian forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in village Kausarmullah in Chadoora area following information about the presence of mujahideen there,” a police spokesman said. “As forces zeroed in on their target, hiding mujahideen fired at them triggering a gunfight which was still raging,” he said. “Four army troopers were wounded in the exchange of fire,” an army spokesman said. “One of them succumbed to his injuries,” he said, adding that three others were hospitalized.
