Indian edition of Talibanism in Assam ! Dozens of women, children and tribals have been mercilessly killed by Bodo militants, in less than ten days after the Peshawar massacre. Human security hardly matters for both state and non state actors today, sadly. Geneva Protocol and all international conventions have become dead letters in both domestic and global engagements. The nation-building process cannot be carried on with pool of blood flowing across the body politik of the country. Unfortunately, every episode of partition has set in motion a train of traumas unfolding in every decade with new manifestations of existential crisis. The time has come when guns should go silent and the hands which hold the guns should extend their helping hands to the poor lot. Who eventually cares that Poverty should not breed terrorism and that the breed of terrorism can only impoverish the masses, in the long run. We feel sad when we look at the face of a northeast worker in our midst in Kerala which he converted into his El Dorado. Let Peace prevail in the minds of each one as we set to celebrate Xmas this night.
