Indigo, now Iggy, took more than half a year to find his new home. Arriving in April as part of a cat hoarding case, Iggy was slow to adjust to the shelter setting and was overwhelmed by the shelter environment. We knew that he was awesome though, and that it would just take an open minded family to adopt him. And that’s exactly what happened in late October. Iggy’s new family took a chance this hunk of love, adopted him and slowly introduced him to their home, other cat and dog. Their smart introduction has paid off and Iggy is doing amazingly well! His family wrote to us and said: “He is a really sweet cat, very good natured. He sleeps on my bed with me every night, up by my head, and as soon as he thinks I am awake, he comes up and gives me head butts and starts purring very loudly . . . we are so glad we took a chance on him, he is a great guy.” What makes this adoption even more wonderful is the fact that the family later realized that Iggy was in the same cage in the shelter as the last two cats that they’d adopted as a pair 4 years ago. They see it – and we agree – that it was proof that “it was meant to be that we got him.”
