Individual freedom. Freedom from majority/minority rule over another group of individuals. Freedom from assault by a single person or a group of people. Ownership of your body which is in fact private property along with anything you may accumulate through voluntary exchange with another individual. Freedom from intrusion by a person or a group of people. Freedom from theft through violence (taxation). Freedom to voluntarily exchange money or goods with another individual. Freedom to say or do anything (as long as one doesnt violate another individuals freedom). Freedom to pursue ones passion. We do not live in this manner. The revolutionary war was a gleam of hope. The constitution was a gleam of hope. But like any overseeing government, it will eventually find the loopholes. It will expand its power while taking away freedom. You and I are far from free. Refuse to pay taxes on YOUR income and on YOUR property. Refuse to register all that YOU own. Refuse being violated by an unwarranted and unlawful search and see if this wonderful government agrees with YOUR freedom. Enjoy celebrating independence from an overseeing monarchy while living in a country ruled by an overseeing democracy.
