Indonesia has lapsed into full insanity. The Deputy Director of the National Anti-Corruption Commission - after charging the Presidents proposed candidate for national Chief of Police in a large corruption case only a week or so ago - was today arrested by police and charged in connection with a police complaint lodged only on 15 January of this year, alleging that in 2010 he somehow perjured himself before the Constitutional Court. This is the same constitutional court in which the chief justice was arrested a few months ago in connection with corruption, case fixing, money laundering and narcotics charges and, in due course, was sentenced to life in prison, after which only a week ago he was caught on camera basically threatening to kill people. This insanity make me want to vomit endlessly and the excuses being offered for the extremely unusual arrest today ring hollow as a kettle drum.
