Indreni Khojdain Jaada in 17th edition of Cinemandu Embassy of India and B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation organized 17th edition of Cinemandu on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Nepal-Bharat Library, Nepal Airlines Building, New Road. This edition of Cinemandu screened a critically acclaimed Nepali feature film Indreni Khojdai Jaadaa: Chasing Rainbows. This film was awarded with Best Fiction in Nepali Feature Film in Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF 2013). It also bagged Jury Choice Award in Toronto Nepali Film Festival 2013. Director and writer of the film Sahara Sharma, producer Abhimanyu Dixit and actors Kritika Lamsal, Sahyog Adhikary and Pranab KC joined the screening of the film. Indreni Khojdai Jaadaa: Chasing Rainbows is an independent film that portrays the trials and tribulations of three siblings, urban migrants in Kathmandu, in pursuit of their dreams. After the screening of the films, director Sahara Sharma and producer Abhimanyu Dixit interacted with the audience. “This was our first attempt; therefore, there might be some loopholes, we will certainly take care of such minuses in our future projects,” said Sahara Sharma and added, “We have tried to portray the day-to-day life and frustrations among many middle class youths in Nepal.” Abhimanyu Dixit elaborated, “We are not trying to impose any idea through this film; this is an attempt to relate our own stories with many like us who share this experience.” Head of Press, Information and Culture at Indian Embassy and Secretary of B.P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation, Abhay Kumar said, “I congratulate the entire crew of this film. This is the first time in Cinemandu that we have had such young talented group of filmmakers. This film picks up many issues that the youths have been suffering. I wish the filmmakers every best for all their future endeavors.”
