Indulge me a moment....I really want to get some thoughts off my chest. This week, I ran across 2 families who needed help for Christmas. My heart went out to them because they had nowhere to turn. Then I thought about all the posts I had seen of people putting up multiple Christmas trees in their home. A lot of money put into those trees....they arent cheap to put together. The purpose of this message? If you can afford to do all those trees AND still find a way to help the less fortunate during this Christmas season, then this message is not for you. But, if you are spending money on decorations, Christmas events, eating out, etc. but not helping anyone in need, then I ask you to rethink the purpose of Christmas. If God has blessed you, share those blessings. Put up one less tree and use that money to feed a poor family or buy a child a coat......the one they have from last year may be too small but its all they have. Call an educator, they will know of children / families who are poor and desperately need help for Christmas bc they spend their own money to try and help these children. I witnessed this yesterday at Riverton Elementary.....teachers/staff scurrying to help a family with a child in their school. Hope I got my point across without offending.....now, open your eyes, your heart and your wallet.....whether $10 or $500.... God honors your effort. Merry Christmas! Love to all!
