Industry Mourns Passing of Rod Key, Esteemed Industry Innovator It is with deepest sorrow that we report the sudden passing of industry friend and innovator Rod Key on Monday, January 20, 2014 at his home in Scottsdale, Arizona at the age of 47. A pioneer in commercial digital photography, he founded the direct marketing company R and R Images in 1986 that was recently acquired by Shutterfly, Inc. where he worked as Sr. Director, Shutterfly Business Solutions. Rod was an advocate and trailblazer in digital printing as he served as Marketing Committee Chair on the Board of Directors for Dscoop. Hewlett-Packard, Document Systems Foundation (EDSF) and Arizona State University have established the Rod Key Memorial Scholarship, which will benefit students of the Arizona State University Graphic Communications Program. Rod’s family has asked that all donations be made to the scholarship fund in lieu of flowers. Donations can be made at: edsf.org/rodkey Rod’s talents, energy, and passion will be sorely missed by friends, family and the entire printing industry. A Celebration of Rod’s Life will be held at McDowell Mountain Church at 10700 N 124th Street, Scottsdale, Arizona, Monday, January 27th at 1:00 pm. All are welcome.
