Infact nice move by Imran Khan (desi siyasat se hatt ker) Imran Khan is being trashed by the media and by politicians, supporters of other political parties & even by his supporter for his announcement of launching of Civil Disobedience even I was very much surprised why Mr.Imran Khan will announce such extreme measures that would be difficult for an ordinary Pakistani to follow. What was even stranger tht Mr. Asad Umar an Economist will let Imran Khan to do a political suicide. In order to find out more about this one did some research and found some very interesting fact According to International Law , Odious debt, also known as illegitimate debt, is a legal theory that holds that the national debt incurred by a regime for purposes that do not serve the best interests of the nation, should not be enforceable. Such debts are, thus, considered by this doctrine to be personal debts of the regime that incurred them and not debts of the state. In some respects, the concept is analogous to the invalidity of contracts signed under coercion. In December 2008, Rafael Correa, President of the Republic of Ecuador, declared Ecuadors national debt illegitimate odious debt, based on the argument that it was contracted by corrupt and despotic prior regimes. He succeeded in reducing the price of the debt letters before continuing paying the debt. To get a better understand this let’s look at the definition of Despotism as well which is a form of government in which a single entity rules with absolute power. That entity may be an individual, as in an autocracy, or it may be a group, as in an oligarchy. The word despotism means to rule in the fashion of a despot and does not necessarily require a singular despot, an individual. Another Definition that has to be understood is of civil disobedience that refers to the practice of breaking laws, usually in a non-violent way, as part of a protest because the laws are believed to be unfair or a violation of fundamental and inalienable human rights. According to Universal Declaration of Human Rights Article 5 No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. Article 6 Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law. Article 7 All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination. Article 8 Everyone has the right to an effective remedy by the competent national tribunals for acts violating the fundamental rights granted him by the constitution or by law. Article 9 No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile. Article 10 Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him. Article 19 Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers. Article 20 1. Everyone has the right to freedom of peaceful assembly and association. 2. No one may be compelled to belong to an association. Article 21 1. Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or through freely chosen representatives. 2. Everyone has the right to equal access to public service in his country. 3. The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret vote or by equivalent free voting procedures.
