Inferno by Dan - TopicsExpress

Inferno by Dan Brown ======================================== The book opens very well and is quite fast paced till almost two thirds of its length. The initial chase is quite thrilling. However the climax is quite disappointing and the book entirely loses its steam till it reaches the end. The final pages seem laborious and the big reveal in the end is so far fetched that you might feel silly having come so far. Dan Brown is sticking to his age old style of bad guys being good and good guys being bad so no surprises there. Even Robert Langdon was used in a very loose manner. I mean at times one feels why the hell do they need a Harvard Art Professor here. He doesnt uses his knowledge of symbology in the same way that we have seen in Da Vinci Code or Angels & Demons rather the author has created forced situations to use Langdon. Same is the case with Dantes correlation with the events of the books. It feels forced and at times spread too thin. It is a decent book overall but Dan Brown needs to understand we expect more out of him being the fans of his earlier works. Overall 3 / 5 stars from me.
