Info Network of microfinance stakeholders aiming at the promotion of microfinance in the European Union and EFTA countries, assisting the fight against unemployment and social exclusion through the development of microentreprises. Empowering EMN members to become acknowledged actors and partners in the financial sector that reach out to a large number of enterprising people who in turn create jobs and contribute to sustainable growth. Unternehmensübersicht The EMN envisions a society in which all those who are financially and socially excluded have access to the full range of financial and complementary support services empowering them to start new ventures, consolidate existing businesses and finance personal needs that improve their lives. The EMN sees itself as the leading network of institutions in Europe empowering excluded people to become active citizens who turn an idea into a reality, who take their destiny in their own hands and contribute positively to society. Allgemeine Informationen The EMN Strategic Plan 2013-2017 will follow on five areas of strategy against which a plan of activities will be prepared by the secretariat and the board: Growth: EMN must stimulate and support its members in growing their activities and reaching out to new entrepreneurs with tailored solutions that combine finance and business support. Innovation: the EMN network must be innovative in business, social and personal finance services through the promotion of innovation in products, communication, organizational structures (both of the network and of the member organisations) and new tools to reach highest number of clients that lead to increased cost-efficiency and wider, broader and deepened outreach. Advocacy: EMN’s advocacy will focus on mobilizing support among decision-makers at European level. This support must translate into policies that facilitate entrepreneurship, specific funding for Microfinance and regulatory changes that enable the growth and consolidation of the Microfinance sector. Social Impact: EMN will support its members in maximizing their social impact, by implementing tools that monitor social performance (and use commonly agreed social indicators) and reporting regularly to policy makers, funders and society at large, on the sustainability of clients supported. Partnerships: in order to support its members EMN works towards developing strategic partnerships with National Networks, National policy makers, private funders and regulators that can contribute significantly towards the development of the Microfinance sector in Europe.
