Informal update on the reality of my case: My case is quite odd. Ive gotten S-O to the point where they want to talk about a settlement so many times. I have never been able to get an attorney though to push them into offering one. Its nuts -- like if Id had an attorney in the past they would have settled and then later they still may have settled..... Who knows last week another one from S-O wanted to talk to me about my issue with S-O, but still I have no attorney to give them that little extra scare. I bet there are tons of victims in this situation -- where they can crack that door but need a lawyer to kick it the rest of the way open and yet they cant get a lawyer to even make a scary phone call to finish the job or potentially finish the job.. When the victim cannot get a lawyer the abusers believe there is no case -- there will never be a case -- so there is no reason to offer a settlement or fear a settlement via court.... There is also no risk of seriously bad publicity if the victim cannot get an attorney. Seriously: I truly wonder how many more victims like me are out there -- those who could get a settlement, which would take a little bit of the abusers God (i.e. money) away from them and in doing so discourage them from committing this abuse against others, but we cannot get a lawyer at all.... My case straddles the border between medical malpractice and psych abuse and this is one of the major reasons why no local attorney will take it....
