Information Literacy Week for Bahria University Faculty Members ( Management Science, Social Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Law Departments Mphil PhD scholars) from 1st july 2013 to 5th july 2013. Bahria University Library always tries to provide State of the art library information services to its users. This summer the University Library organized a series of workshop about Library information resources, citation management, Plagiarism and the research tools for the entire faculty members. The workshop was organized for each department. The entire faculty members, library and administrative staff participated in these informative sessions. The workshop was started daily from 11.00 and was continue till 2.00 Pm. The following modules were covered: a) What is information literacy, Importance of IL, Differentiate between types of information, “Popular vs. Scholarly” Primary vs. Secondary” and research tools. b) Differentiate between formats of information, Discovering Information c) Field Searching, Keywords searching, Recall" searching ,"Expert" searching d) Practical Session HEC Library Database Exercise, Complete practical guide to HEC databases Subscribed Resources of Bahria University Library available resources, free online resources, millions of rich databases, free video lectures etc. Online Catalogue Searching, Books, journals etc. Searching tools, locating of resources, Access, etc. Digital Library use and resources e) How to cite your research, Google scholars, endnote, and Style of research. Hand on Training EndNote software. f) How to avoid plagiarism hand on session with Turnitin Software. g) Creating a Search Query Phrases Search: Logical operators Search, Truncation Search, Wildcards Search, Nesting Search
