Information Update With the 36Hr pass coming up, I wanted to address some questions that I have been seeing on the page: 1) The 36hr pass is not a graduation ceremony. Here we conduct what is called OSUT (One Station Unit Training) where Basic Training and Advanced Training are rolled into one event. The graduation ceremony for this class will be 13 December 2013. The 36hr pass is an opportunity for the Soldiers to spend time with friends and family and take a small break from training. 2) While on the 36hr pass, the Soldiers must remain in uniform. Any Soldier that is found out of uniform will be violating the orders of their commanding officer and will be punished accordingly. 3) To access Fort Benning, and person 18 years or oldier must present a government issued ID. Additionally any paperwork (registration/insurance) for vehicles driven onto Fort Benning must be up to date. If driving a rental, the rental agreement will cover the registration and you should have a copy of your personal insurance card as well. 4) If taking a cab onto Fort Benning, keep in mind that cabs are not authorized to come onto Sand Hill prior to 0800 (8am). We understand that the briefing is scheduled to start at 8am, but we will wait for about 15 minutes to allow anyone that is in a cab time to get to the location. 5) Please ensure that you are early for the event. The family briefing will last about 30-40 minutes, and we would like to start promptly, no later than 8:15am. 6) Pay close attention to what your Soldiers are and are not allowed to do on pass. Any Soldier who is caught violating teh Commanders rules will be punished, regardless of who influenced or facilitated the wrong doing. 7) The Soldeirs will be required to be returned promptly and on time. Any Soldier who is late will be held accountable for their actions. A note from Mom or Dad will nt help them or get them out of trouble for missing formation.
