Information from the Town of Caledon: Rogers Communications Tower Installation, 12790 Hurontario Street Folks, received this information below and attached regarding a proposal to install a new Rogers Communication Tower just outside the SFV Area. As you can see on the attached maps and information, this proposed Tower would be installed on the west side of Hurontario Street, south of Old School Road. By looking at the Map, it seems this location would be approximately across from where Dougall Road is planned to intersect with Hurontario Street in the future. We are just providing this information so you are in-the-know and if you wish further details, please go to the open house information session tonight. We are not concerned with this proposal but as always, if any residents have concerns that you would like the RG to voice, please let us know. Here is the information from the Town: ---------------------------------------------------------------- In response to significant rising demand for wireless voice and data services in this area, Rogers Communications Inc. is proposing to construct a new wireless telecommunication tower installation. What is being proposed? Rogers proposes to construct a 40-metre steel lattice tripole structure and an associated radio equipment cabinet within a fenced compound. The tripole will be located on the rear portion of the property. A photosimulation of the proposed installation is at right. Lighting of the installation, if required, will be in accordance with Transport Canada and NAV Canada regulations for installations of this type. Why is this installation needed? Rogers has become aware of coverage deficiencies in this area. Network engineers have reviewed the available level of service and have determined that an additional antenna installation is required. The installation will also facilitate future co-location by other licensed carriers. Where is it proposed to be located? The proposed site is located at 12790 Hurontario Street, south of Old School Road in the Town of Caledon (red pin below). Local Land Use Requirements Wireless facilities are exclusively regulated by the Federal Government and are outside the scope of Provincial and Municipal policies. However, the carriers are required to consult with the appropriate Authority and establish a form of consultation or refer to the guidelines established by Industry Canada. Public consultation is being undertaken in accordance with Industry Canada’s Client Procedures Circular CPC-2-0-03 — Radiocommunication and Broadcasting Antenna Systems (“CPC”) and the Town of Caledon’s requirements for communications towers.
