Informative Thundercats marvel Making its debut at the end of 1985, and running until 1988, Marvels ThunderCats series was one of the most successful (and, arguably, highest-quality) comic series to be published by Marvels subsidary brand of Star Comics. Star Comics was basically a collection of titles aimed at younger readers than their regular comic books, and as such featured many comic titles that were tied-in to TV series. ThunderCats boasted some of Marvels finest talents, including writers David Micheline, Gerry Conway and Tom DeFalco, and veteran artists Jim Mooney and Jose Delbo amongst many others, and it was this calibre of staff that made Marvels ThunderCats such a special take on the property. DC In the summer of 2002, DC/Wildstorm released ThunderCats #0, the first new ThunderCats comic to be released in over a decade, and the prequel to a run of several mini-series published by the company and starring our favourite feline heroes. With fresh-looking, contemporary artwork from some of comics leading artists (including fan favourites Ed McGuinness, Ed Benes and Brett Booth), DC/Wildstorms series also boasted some highly memorable and innovative (if at times somewhat controversial!) stories.
