Inline image 1 Temporary, Time Card Assignment Opportunity Position/Title: Biology, Chemistry and Math Tutors Department/Location: South Mountain Community College Learning Resource Center 7050 S. 24th St. Phoenix, AZ 85041 Work Days/Hours: 15 hours per week. Work shifts may vary during open hours of operation. Employment as a tutor does not guarantee a minimum number of work hours. Hours of Operation: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Employment Date: August 19 through December 13, 2013 Hourly Rate: $8 to $13 per hour (depending on education and experience) Benefits Eligible: No Job Summary: Provide tutoring in the Learning Center to a diverse student population. Tutors should have sufficient knowledge of the subjects they are tutoring as well as effective tutoring techniques. Tutors participate in training sessions provided prior to the first day of classes and during the semester. Tutor may perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: · Ability to provide clear and concise explanations of concepts and procedures. · Strong time management, organizational and communication skills (i.e., one-on-one and/or group communication, public speaking and written communication). · Ability to work with students of varying levels of abilities. · Ability to collaborate with students, staff and faculty members. · Willingness to work individually or as a member of a team.
