Inmate Death On the morning of Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville, a jailer conducting a count in a dorm located an unresponsive inmate in a bunk. Medical staff responded immediately and Acadian Ambulance was called to the location. Despite their efforts, 46 year old Clarence Clark, III of Franklin was pronounced dead by the St. Mary Parish Coroner at 8:00 am. As per St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office procedure, an investigation is underway pending the outcome of the coroner’s autopsy report. No foul play is suspected at this point in the investigation. Clark, a Department of Corrections prisoner, had been incarcerated since March and was serving time on a five year sentence for second degree battery.
