Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon. We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear Dr. Syed Elsely, the dean of our Arabic department. Oh Allah, by whom all things are possible, we ask you to encompass him with your infinite mercy, make his grave expansive and grant him the highest stations of jannah. Oh Allah, whose rewards know no end, we ask you to accept and multiply each of his good deeds and make the beneficial knowledge he has shared as a teacher and the work he has done continue to bear fruits so that it remains a sadaqah jariyah for him. Oh Allah by whose word grieving hearts find rest, give his family, friends and his students patience and solace. Ameen
