In what seemed a sustained hostility against the establishment, gunmen on Thursday attacked a community in the southern of Borno State, killing its monarch about a dozen and others. Residents of Garubula village in Biu local government area of Borno state confirmed that their District Head, Alhaji Ibrahim Dawi, and 11 others were shot dead by the ravaging gunmen. Idrisa Garubula, a resident in the attacked village told journalists by phone that those who attacked them were dressed like soldiers when they invaded the peacefull farming community at about midnight. It was indeed, a sad day for us to wake up today and find that our dear District Head was killed after that yesterday’s nocturnal attack on us by gunmen dressed like soldiers. He was shot in the head, and before those close by could help to rush him to the General Hospital in Biu, he gave up the ghost.
