“Innovation” has already entered the mainstream lexicon. At a time when every company and every country is actively pursuing innovation, what is it that allows innovation to create real value? Besides technological innovations, are there other forms of innovation that can improve human life? Where do the innovative ideas that have important social impacts come from? Can innovations be extended to create economic value? Does trans-disciplinary research bring new perspectives? These are the issues surrounding innovation theories and their social practice that are being actively explored around the world. In a rapidly changing and highly competitive environment, new organizational patterns, new thoughts, new business models, new communications media, new forms of e-commerce, and newly decoded neuroscientific insights emerge daily. These are all expressions of innovation. Thus, this conference focuses on cross-disciplinary and cross-border interaction in order to stimulate innovative thinking. In addition, reflecting the importance of the social practices of innovation for creating real value, the main theme for this conference is Innovation Studies and Social Practices: Trans-disciplinary Dialogue.
