JL : When it comes to Sharia law, to me, its ... its obviously involves terrorism. It involves a power that is not a healthy power. (ehm... Duh..) BC: In what way does it involve terrorism? JL : Well, I just think Sharia law, you get it mixed up in - well, if you are not going to show ... if you are going to be a supporter of Sharia law and you are not going to support our Constitution and allegiance to our Constitution and Australian law, then, you know ... BC: They are not saying they dont support the Constitution. Sharia law is a religious framework but Muslims in Australia, the moderate Muslims, dont follow the extreme tenets of Sharia law, in the same way Christians dont take literally some of the violence inherent in the Old testament. JL : Yes but you have extremists when it comes to Sharia law. Thats not good for the country. BC: Why arent you urging Muslims not to accept extreme elements? By saying you want them to reject Sharia law, full stop, you are saying they have to reject their religion? JL : It is one or other. You cant have 50-50. BC: You are saying, though, if they follow their faith, they have no place in Australia? JL : Thats what Im saying, yes. If you are an extremist towards Sharia law, you have no place in Australia. BC : Do you have a problem with Muslims? JL : No, I dont have a problem with Muslims. (BULLL SHIT) I have a problem with extremists and Sharia law. BC : You say you reject Sharia law full stop, not just the extreme elements. JL : Thats correct. (OMG... she is a Australian SENATOR? D) BC : They would have to abandon their faith. JL : There is an issue right now. I want to see their full allegiance, not 50%, to the Australian Constitution and Australian law. It is one law for all. That is the Australian law full stop.
