Inspire and Honored… When I started my business, Lotus Life - TopicsExpress

Inspire and Honored… When I started my business, Lotus Life Designs, last year, my hope was that the positive/inspirational messages on the t-shirts would inspire ladies, of all ages, to feel empowered to live their most authentic life and to believe we all have the ability and power to create that life for ourselves. I find myself amazed everyday, by the strength I see in people all over the world, who find the courage to get back up after experiencing an unthinkable tragedy or receiving news that their life as they know it has just changed because they possibly have a terminal illness. This weekend I participated in a two day, local art festival. I was very excited to kick off the summer with a outdoor event! Lotus Life t-shirts were nicely displayed everywhere, I felt great, ready to meet tons of new people and to top it off, the weather was gorgeous! I really couldn’t ask for much more…well, let me tell you, I got a whole lot more! A women named Karen came by both and bought two of the “She Believed She Could So She Did” shirts…one was for a friend of hers that was fighting brain cancer (in her 3rd year) and who was able to shrink her tumor with all holistic therapies, including the power of thought and positive thinking. The other shirts was for Karen…at 45 she was just diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer and was at the beginning stages of treatment. What was so amazing about Karen is when I asked her what type of cancer she had; she said “breast cancer but the good kind”. I asked “what’s that good kind?” and her reply was “the kind that’s curable.” Her most recent mammogram missed the cancer. She did a self exam and found the lump one day. She saved her own life! One of the memorable experiences this weekend was when Karen told me the only reason she came to the Festival was because she saw that Lotus Life T-shirts was going to have a tent and she knew she needed to have these shirts. She was inspired and believed wearing her shirt would support her on this new journey. I think we cried/hugged for 15 minutes as we continued our conversation. It was unforgettable experience for me. I was blessed to have had several similar encounters with people this weekend who stopped by my booth to show their support and share their stories. Being a business owner can sometimes feel like a very daunting and isolating process. I know I’ve often wondered if I’m doing all the right things to make my business grow and inspire people at the same time? Is there a purpose for all of this? This weekend I couldn’t have asked for better answers to all these questions! Honored and Inspired, Shannon LotusLifeDesigns Facebook/LotusLifeTshirts
