Inspired by this video, I thought up a game that I want the internet to play. Ill make the first move, and hopefully enough people will want to play that the social sciences AND mathematics will have learned something important. Ok, here are the rules of the game. Im gonna pick a number and then pick an attribute that applies to a group of people of that size. It is the responsibility of the next person who chooses to play to remove one person from that group and figure out what that group of people all have in common that the excluded person does NOT possess. Go on from there, all the way down to zero people remaining in the original group. Ready? I choose 318,958,000 Americans. All 318,958,000 Americans breathe air to survive. Who is gonna have the courage to figure out what sets 318,957,999 people apart from that one poor, lonely bastard. Clearly, there will be multiple answers for most, if not all (thank God Im not in academia and dont feel the need to justify this assumption), of these combinations of people. So have fun trying to figure out how to assess the rightness of each answer. Now its lunchtime.
