Inspiring trip to our local Dunnes store in Briarhill: Fish nice - TopicsExpress

Inspiring trip to our local Dunnes store in Briarhill: Fish nice and fresh, lovely display, good choice, no indication where is the fish sourced from. A sign mention all our fish supplied by local supplier so when I asked who was supplying them from Galway, the vendor said Ocean Path, Howth, Dublin... I just had to ask him how local is that and would he consider removing his sign.... Prices were a good 30% dearer than Gannet, their few special were cheaper but that is shopping as it should be Darnes of farmed salmon were €21-50/kg, we sell Organic at €18. It barely cost them more than €9/kg to buy it in... And last thing, I noticed some Basa fillets, Basa is a different name for Panga, or Pangasius. After all the negative press on The way that fish is farmed and processed, it was smart to rebrand it. Thats it enough Dunnes store bashing for today. Please share
