Nor do I buy into the Christian mythos of a cosy pink fluffy heaven in any way. But I do have a strong intuitive feeling, based in part on personal experiences, that consciousness does precede life and does survive death, and that what do with our lives has profound consequences for what happens next, and I dont find that at all comforting. Quite the opposite in fact. Surely it would be much more comforting to believe that we could just live this physical life any way we wished and when its over its over and were out of here with no accounts to keep and no karmic bill to pay?
