Instead of always crying on the absence of accountability and good - TopicsExpress

Instead of always crying on the absence of accountability and good governance, maybe it’s about time we think outside the box by finding temporary solutions to long term problems until GOL can build the requisite institutions in safeguarding critical assets of the state. One sure firing of begging the process is none other than “Open Government Initiative”, where Citizens are actively engaged in the process by keeping scores and tracking major activities in the public square…… The availability of tools and resources today due to the rapid advancement of Technology makes spotting talents and crowdsourcing major GOL undertakings possible. Considering the fact that Expertise and Intelligence are widely and unevenly distributed in society, it becomes imperative that citizen participation becomes the last straw for optimum performance through collaboration and outsourcing……… Having the leverage of Facebook, GitHub, Twitter and other social media/Collaborative platforms assessable to the public, we could borrow templates from corporate Environment where projects are done in teams and most often outsource for better product and service outputs with the same idea working in the Public Square……… Open GOL Initiative provides you with two outcomes @ the end of the day. (1) Delivering better information from the crowd into the Center/GOL for crafting sound policies. (2) Getting decision making and better solutions to the Public for a huge return. Folks, Civil Engagements and Crowd Funding are our best options @ the moment becuz the opportunities are endless. See it like this; company produces goods and services, and on the other hand you have Gol producing social goods and services in the form of Health care, Infrastructure, Education, Trade, and so forth. The question now becomes, if Corporate are in the constant habit of leveraging the Crowd/Public in producing top quality product/services, then why can’t GOL do the same? Maybe we could begin the process with our newly elected Lawmakers, becuz while we sit there pointing fingers, others are grabbing the bull by the horns as in the case of Botswana, India, Sierra Leone, Bangladesh, and etc They are bringing the case the people and the people themselves telling GOL how they want their business done…..youtu.be/QgfqsGAHmnk Vah Isaac Tukpah
