Instead of asking what do I want from life?, a more powerful question is, what does life want from me? --Eckhart Tolle Figuring out what life wants from me is not hard because what it wants from you structures what is happening now. This is so wonderful that it makes me laugh from delight to think of it! Where are you now? What does the situation call for? That is what life wants from you. But we are in the habit of imposing what we want onto the situation. So maybe we are at home with nothing to do. Life is asking us to do nothing; life wants from us the doing of nothing at that moment. But we often decide this is not good enough: so we find something to do. Or, sometimes we decide we want to talk to someone on the phone. And we call them, and they dont answer. Then we call someone else, and they dont answer either. At that moment, life doesnt want us to talk on the phone. If we accept this and live in the moment, in the circumstances of the moment, instead of trying to get something out of life, instead of always approaching everything as if we were drilling for oil (particular experiences), then we wont destroy the ecology of natural peace in our lives.
