Instead of choosing RICE, we must choose to RISE We were together at an interactive ceremony with a foreign body; all of us in white. White is the official color of our company and beyond that I think I personally cherish that color because of the way it marches my skin. Although the meeting had nothing to do with our company, I had chosen to attend putting on a white attire, alongside my allies. After a general discussion,it was time to eat. All sort of delicacies were on our table: rice,fufu,eba,plaintain,ogufe, igbin,eja tutu-name it! I felt this would have been the best dinner of the month as I curiously observed the collections of kitchen practicals before me. I knew my problem. There was no way Taiwo Oladipo would attempt such a dangerous delicacy without splashing some palm oil on his white. So I couldnt eat but my eyes were simply misbehaving and would not look at the direction of the book I was reading. It was then I knew why Jesus wanted us to rent (or buy) a knife to pluck out our eyes if they would stop us from making heaven. My nose was naughty. Its two gates were broad opened to the dangerous aroma of tempting trays. Instead of continuously staring at ponmo and ogbin, I simply chose to rise and dash straight to my car in my generously sown white agbada. My friend chose to eat anyway with a promise to tell me how sweet the lunch was. Too bad for him. He embarrassed himself as in few seconds,splashed his chest with palm-oil while struggling with a stubborn pepperish tendon! Such is life! There are many things we cant do because of the significance of the mandate we carry. We,sometimes, may love to sit down and watch the TV for hours but we definitely sometimes choose to run away because of the vision we must pursue. We cant drink beer. We cant smoke cigarretes. We cant run after sugar-mummies. We cant dance anyhow at parties. We cant go to clubs. We cant do rituals. Because we wear white, we must choose to rise instead of choosing rice. And,We enjoy doing so because thats the secret of our success...
