Instead of setting goals and objectives for the new year, I - TopicsExpress

Instead of setting goals and objectives for the new year, I decided that I wanted to live by 25 daily mantras that will hopefully help to guide me in 2015. I hope that this will help to promote positivity, help me make the changes in myself now that will matter later, and be all that I can be as a man, as a friend, as a lover, as a brother, and for who I will be in the future. So, here are the 25 quotes that I picked to live up to in the new year: 1. “Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.” – Rumi 2. “We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated.” – Maya Angelou 3. “Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it.” – Mahatma Gandhi 4. “Faith is an oasis in the heart which will never be reached by the caravan of thinking.” – Khalil Gibran 5. “You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.” – Christopher Columbus 6. “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson 7. “Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship.” – Buddha 8. “You can have anything you want if you are willing to give up the belief that you can’t have it.” –Robert Anthony 9. “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson 10. “He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.” – Epictetus 11. “There is only one day left, always starting over: it is given to us at dawn and taken away from us at dusk.” Jean-Paul Sartre 12. “In the end, it’s not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away” – Shing Xiong 13. “Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” – Khalil Gibran 14. “None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe 15. “Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” – Robert Frost 16. “Perhaps I know best why it is man alone who laughs; he alone suffers so deeply that he had to invent laughter.” – Friedrich Nietzsche 17. “That pleasure which is at once the most pure, the most elevating and the most intense, is derived, I maintain, from the contemplation of the beautiful.” – Edgar Allan Poe 18. “In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.” – Theodore Roosevelt 19. “When you look at yourself from a universal standpoint, something inside always reminds or informs you that there are bigger and better things to worry about.” – Albert Einstein 20. “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain 21. “Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.” – Lao-Tze 22. “I did not wish to take a cabin passage, but rather to go before the mast and on the deck of the world, for there I could best see the moonlight amid the mountains. I do not wish to go below now.” – Henry David Thoreau 23. “We are at our very best, and we are happiest, when we are fully engaged in work we enjoy on the journey toward the goal we’ve established for ourselves. It gives meaning to our time off and comfort to our sleep. It makes everything else in life so wonderful, so worthwhile.” – Earl Nightingale 24.“Experience taught me a few things. One is to listen to your gut, no matter how good something sounds on paper. The second is that you’re generally better off sticking with what you know. And the third is that sometimes your best investments are the ones you don’t make”. – Donald Trump 25. “Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” – Muhammed Ali Again, wishing everyone lots of love, light, and happiness in the New Year!
