Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. Ephesians 4:15 Jesus Christ is the head of the church. As you read the Bible, there is no confusion about that fact. If He is our head - our leader - we would all do well to keep our eyes focused on Him. Sometimes in our churches, we get mentally distracted by the leaders in our church. Most often, it is because we humans physically see and hear our leaders and are drawn to their leadership. Occasionally, leaders usurp the authority that should only belong to Christ. In either case, we as individuals can protect ourselves by making sure the eyes of our minds and hearts are focused on Jesus. Pray today and affirm that Jesus alone is your forgiver and your leader. If you are following someone claiming to lead in Jesus name, listen to them through your Jesus filter. Make Christ your number one.
